grown up over the past four years. sasha and malia handle all the attention with real grace. and they'll spend their critical teen years inside the white house. our lisa sylvester is here with more on that. that would be tough for anyone, but it looks like they're going to be able to handle it, right, lisa? >> you are absolutely right, kate. we have certainly seen first children before, chelsea and the bush twins, but sasha and malia are considerably younger than the bush twins or chelsea was when their fathers were president. sasha was only in second grade when president obama was first elected, and malia will spend her formative years 10 through 18 living in the white house. that is quite a bubble to grow up in. >> malia obama and sasha obama. >> reporter: there aren't many 11 and 14-year-olds who walk out to a crowd of millions. but for malia and sasha, this is just a part of their lives. the girls have changed on the outside since the first inauguration, but more than that, there's a newfound grace and poise, and something else, a sense of normal. it shows in moments like these. m

of inauguration 2013. you're seeing the president's daughters, sasha and malia as well as mrs. obama's mother take the stage. for many people, when the mother-in-law of the president actually moved into the white house, it seemed like the perfect moment for a sitcom. that never happened. but the president's daughters now we've watched them grow up in the white house under four years under the scrutiny of the public eye. i think sasha had the greatest moment of the entire campaign yesterday when after he took the oath of office, she could be audibly heard congratulating her daddy for not messing up. >> jennifer: you know what's ironic about that. i was of watching another program this morning. they were offended that the president after he was done said to his daughter, i did it. as though i did it. i got elected instead of i got through this without messing up. because -- >> jennifer: exactly. it wasn't a we built this moment but famously, four years ago, the president made some -- omitted some words in the oath of office which is why john roberts had to give him the oath of office again the next

address to take place, we believe they are here at the white house right now. we have a good look at sasha obama, the youngest daugt e of the oobamas today after the swearing in took place and she looked at her dad and said, you didn't mess it up. he said i didn't, and it was a cute moment there. and there was a candlelight session that took place here, and tomorrow the ceremonies really pick up, and the first family will be 100 yards from where i am standing at the reviewing stand and they will be watching the parade as it passes and the inaugural planners will be hoping that the weather holds, because it is a spectacular day in the 60 compared to temperatures in the teens and windchills in the 40s a four years ago. and that is not the case here. the president and the family will walk over to the st. john's church and the church of the president as it is so often known for the first family before the inaugural swearing in and then the parade and then the ball, and ten of them four years ago, but just two, and still pretty good ones this time around. >> peter alexander from the white house

david keene on this morning, still defending the ad saying it is not about malea and sasha obama and "the washington post" gave them four pinnochios for the ad and one thing they point to is the ad says that the president skeptical about armed security guards in school when in the interview the president had with david gregory he said he was skeptical it's the only answer is putting more guns in school. that was the exact quote that they have pointed out. they then go on to talk about the security at sidwell school and say that the numbers or this image that's purported in this web ad is also not correct. that there's no such armed guards there. to take the president's words out of context, michael, to misrepresenting this armed force that they were implying is at the school of these children and then pretending that they weren't talking about the president's children when it was clear of that case, does that only appeal to the fringe or do you have some moderate republicans, michael, out there and they see it was a misrepresentation and that it crossed some kind of line? >> frin
